I will wear white

Now I am old without you I will not wear purple, I will wear white. My hair will be a cloud the colour of the sun. I will smile and laugh no matter the aches of body, the pain of loss I will smile at strangers, friends, see loneliness and pain, and pour the sunshine That a smile can bring, on sadness Age will not matter. Small children who see the truth of us, the old who need to know, They're still here That they exist – still visible I will smile at handsome young men Allowed now Little do they know! See beauty in all things and people: No-one and nothing is ugly What is ugly? Just a personal perception There is beauty in everyone and everything All we have to do is look, and Somehow, somewhere, See the spark of the divine; It's there Yes that's what I’ll do- Smile, and try to love. No! I won't wear purple I’ll wear white and People will say ‘Just like an Angel!’ The nearest I’ll get I'm sure. Yes i will wear white, Now that I am old Without you, and That's fine with me.
